Developed in collaboration with N Club Tennessee and Milltek Corp (Forge USA), this Forge Motorsport intercooler upgrade for the Hyundai Elantra N is designed to dramatically improve cooling efficiency and airflow. Using Forge Motorsports industry-leading bar and plate technology combined with advanced CAD modeling and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), the intercooler maximizes the available space in the Elantra N chassis while delivering substantial improvements in charge air cooling.

The result is a high-performance intercooler solution designed to support increased power levels and maintain consistent engine performance even during demanding driving conditions.

LARGER CORE FOR IMPROVED AIRFLOW

The bar and plate intercooler core provides a massive 111% increase in volume and a 58% increase in frontal surface area compared to the factory intercooler. This makes it one of the largest and most effective cooling upgrades available for the Hyundai Elantra N platform.

To further improve airflow and cooling efficiency, Forge Motorsport engineered a custom fabricated ducting system that integrates with the vehicles front bumper. This design ensures air is directed precisely through the intercooler core where it is needed most.

INCREASED PIPE DIAMETER FOR BETTER FLOW

The intercoolers inlet and outlet diameters have been increased to 65 mm, providing approximately 27% more volume compared to the OEM unit. Custom silicone hoses are included to ensure seamless integration with surrounding engine components and deliver reliable performance for vehicles at any tuning level.

The intercooler assembly is finished in Forge Motorsports signature black textured powder coating for improved durability and a clean engine bay appearance.

ADVANCED CORE DESIGN & TESTING

Extensive testing of multiple core configurations led Forge Motorsport engineers to select a high-efficiency bar and plate core design. The internal fin structure and airflow characteristics minimize pressure drop while maximizing heat transfer, allowing the intercooler to maintain consistent performance under demanding conditions.

Testing showed the Forge intercooler can reduce intake air temperatures by up to 50% compared to the factory unit, helping maintain power levels and prevent the ECU from reducing ignition timing due to excessive heat. Lower intake temperatures can also help improve reliability and overall engine efficiency during spirited driving or track use.

PROVEN PERFORMANCE RESULTS

During dyno testing, engineers simulated real-world heat soak conditions by allowing the vehicle to reach approximately 40C intake temperatures before performing repeated pulls. Even after multiple runs, the Forge intercooler maintained intake air temperatures around 24C, demonstrating significantly improved cooling compared to the factory intercooler.

By reducing intake temperatures and improving airflow, the Forge Motorsport intercooler helps deliver more consistent power and torque, making it an ideal upgrade for both stock and modified Hyundai Elantra N vehicles.
